d gallerie is centrally located in the heart of bustling South Jakarta. d gallerie has exhibition area of around 300 m2. The building was designed by Indonesian renowned architect, Jasin Tedjasukmana in 2000.
The building itself speaks of grandeur and elegant. With rare dark wood flooring and exposed high ceiling, d gallerie has its own unique design. The ambiance of d gallerie doesn’t resemble the white box look possessed by other contemporary art galleries.
Since its opening in September 2001, d gallerie was one of the leading galleries with important works of Indonesian old masters. With the development of contemporary art in South East Asia, since 2006 d gallerie is promoting and fostering young and undiscovered Indonesian contemporary artists. Through regular exhibition program, d gallerie is aiming to be one of Indonesia’s leading contemporary art galleries. d gallerie is not just showcasing paintings and sculptures, but also all other medium of art such installation, video and all other new media based works.
d gallerie had work with Indonesia’s leading curators in putting together an exhibition. Names such as Jim Supangkat, Agus Darmawan, Rizki Zaelani, Suwarno Wisetrotomo, Kuss Indarto, Rikrik Kusmara has collaborated with d gallerie in preparation of an exhibition.
